4-000.600.M41 - Imperial Citizens Celebrate the dawning of the 6th Century M41.

With 9 years until the sixth centenary of the Prosperitas Sector’s reconquest and reunification with the Imperium, and despite the grinding bloody stalemates in Subsector Secundus, the Imperial Court of the Sector Governor declares a grand celebration of the arrival of the 6th century of the Millenium. Temporary shift breaks on multiple industrial worlds are held. With Warmaster Khan unwilling to reduce the fighting forces at the front, and unable to spare the Sector Governor all but a handful of ceremonial regiments of Imperial Guard, parades on Duroverum and on several worlds see the Imperial Guard’s traditional positions of prominence in such celebrations supplanted by that of Hermione Durovera’s own private forces (cit.ref. Private Military Companies of the Carta Astrographica common nomenclature. Mercenaries) with the Guard ceremonial regiments positioned to snub their Warmaster’s inability to provide forces (quote.H.Durovera.”A meagre offering of the ancient and infirm not good fighting troops worth celebrating”) to the celebrations.

Owing to the Quadripartite Schism, Ecclesiarchy parades celebrating the dawning of the century require a great deal of careful policing, the Inquisition and the Adepta Sororitas work closely together to ensure no major sectarian violence erupts, and the worse casualties are the ego’s of a few Priests across the Sector.

The parties are a lavish affair and most Citizens of menial grades and lower are provided with additional ration slips by the grace of the Sector Governor herself, the burden of supplying rations picked up by House Volkov of Midsummer whose alliance with House Durovera has given the Sector Governor unrivalled control over the most bountiful Agriworld in the Sector.

  • Inquisitor Zahid: In the absence of the balancing factor of any obvious leader of the Imperial Cult in the Prosperitas Sector the domestic political power of the Sector resides largely unchallenged in the Imperial Nobility and especially the Great Houses of the Sector. While the factions of the Ecclesiarchy that do remain are not entirely rudderless, their dependence on the patronage of the Houses makes them far from unbiased. It is becoming increasingly apparent that intervention may be necessary to put an end to this schism and currently the Order of His Sanguine Tears is not in a position to carry out the Adepta’s usual duties due to its leadership being either in Repentia or sequestering themselves to contemplate the fate of their Order as a result of being led into Heresy by Heresiarch Grulge. I have some thinking of my own on this matter, but I invite communications from any servant of the Conclave willing to propose a solution, no matter how radical.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: Although the snub of the Crusade is to be expected from Hermione Durovera at this stage, the fact that her petty feud with the Warmaster has made such acts a routine occurrence and annoyance for us all highlights the challenges we are presented with, as she will accept no reconciliation from the Warmaster short of Warmaster Khan resigning her post and handing the Crusade to her. The parades also gave us a good look at some extent of the forces we know she has been holding in reserve and is yet to use, and those forces are not inconsiderable but rely heavily on elite units of veteran infantry and lack conventional armoured support due to them originally being mustered to support her Rogue Trader fleet, what they do utilise is light vehicles designed for air transport such as the Tauros-class vehicles.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: The failure of conquering Finisterra to plunder for resources means Hermione is more dependent on Midsummer and her alliance with the Volkov than she would like us to know. And I have no doubt this is why she is so careful in making these grand displays of force and armies - I believe she also wants others to think that her position is stronger than it really is. With the Villas-Lobo now controlling their own breadbasket planet on Amenophis, the Palamyr and Caerlyn modernizing Merewald, she can no longer threaten the sector with starvation to keep her rivals in line - if she pushes too much, they might unite against her. Which is something she absolutely does not want.

4-285.600.M41 - Stalemate on the Front

The grinding stalemates across the Secondus and Tertius fronts continue, as they have since 660.M41. While the Regency bleeds troopers daily against the battle lines of the Prosperitas Crusade it continues to bleed the Crusade of experienced troops and materiel - to make matters worse, emboldened Nobles increasingly skim the best of their fighting populations off into House Guard regiments, Houses Durovera, Di Firro, and to a lesser extent, House Majid better able attract experienced warriors to their banners. While the encroachment of the Archenemy increasingly sees the exotic regiments of the House Guards of the Noble Houses deployed, including the bioengineered horrors and abhuman chrono-warriors of House Vilas-Lobo which are increasingly deployed in the Secundus front against the foulnesses of the Plague Gods chosen servants in the Tain Twins, the reality is that the Crusade has little control over these forces and they prioritise the defence of House assets over strategic goals.

Warmaster Khan is in a political bind, a more traditional Crusade would have total authority over the Sector it is tasked with conquering but the long stagnation of it, and the success of the Houses of the Prosperitas Sector in carving the conquered territories into their own fiefdoms mean she has little real power without actively wielding her greatest strength, Battlefleet Prosperitas, to place a gun against the heads of the Sector Nobility to force them back into line - and even then such an act risks a long and protracted conflict with the Rogue Trader fleets of Di Firro and Durovera. And so the Crusade does what it can against the threat of the Archenemy.

The threats on the Secondus Front grow increasingly more myriad in their appearance as well to contrast with the exotic mix of Imperial Guard, Penitent Ex-Templars, Sororitas, scattered Astartes and the Congregation of the Burning Martyr’s Helots Crusade that make up the Imperial lines. While at the start of the conflict it was largely common to see the fanatical ranks of the Regencies regimental “Ulan” troopers operating in old Imperial Army formations as a dark parallel to the Imperial Guard, the fighting has drawn in other bands of Archenemy warriors, heretic cult rabble raised from worlds under occupation or mounting uprisings on worlds on the frontline, human and xenos mercenaries willing to fight alongside the Regency, Hereteks of the so-called ‘Dark Mechnicum’ and Warbands of Servants of the Dark Gods have been drawn to the call of war and bloodshed - compensating for the theoretically finite number of Uhlans the Regency can bring to bare - though the Regencies numbers are impressive due to, according to captured prisoners, the use of cryosleep to build up a waiting and ready population of soldiers.

4-287.600.M41 - The Letifer Incursion

A multi-cell Inquisitorial taskforce was deployed to Letifer Secundus following the emergence of Ishari (cit.ref Objective SCENIC) activity within the Deep Underhive. Intelligence suggested a shift in the xenos' approach, where previously they have been reported raiding Imperial Population centers, here they appeared to co-opt desperate underhive populace through fear, infection, and dark ritual, generating cultist adherents obedient to Ishari “Priest” akin to the “Ashen” cult encountered during the last resurgence of the Entity but notably much more directly worshipful of the Entity then infected by fear.

Aided by Raivan Commandos and operating under the oversight of Inquisitor Duplesis, the cell engaged the foe, cooperating uneasily with local resistance elements of the Rising Flame to trace and confront the expanding threat.

The operation culminated in an assault on a large ritual site, where the Ishari sought to breach the veil between realspace and a warp realm tentatively identified by Ordo Malleus sources as the “Black Desert.” Agents encountered civilians transformed into warped thralls, collapsing psychic integrity across the hive strata, and a metaphysical wound that opened briefly into an alien, churning domain of shifting, chaotic geometry. Disruption was achieved through the sacrifice of many Raivan Commandos to deliver detonation charges to the ritual site. Though the ritual was disrupted by coordinated demolitions, and the portal sealed under tonnes of debris, field operatives confirmed signs of the imprisoned warp-entity - SCENIC - stirring within. Any agents wanting more information on this encounter are recommended to contact agents Flannigan, Degurr, Gallivan ni Fionn, Ceallach and Caffney.

  • Inquisitor Zahid: While this incursion was prevented, it is likely that we will see the foul Xenos and the other Agents of the Entity provoking similar attempts to breach the barriers around the prison constructed by its ancient Xenos gaolers. We always knew after the St Sanguinius operation that we had simply bought ourselves time to prevent the resurgence of the threat from this elder entity, it seems the time is nigh that we will have to make serious steps to prevent it becoming a threat to our future. This incursion was not an end - but the first note of a deeper war to come. The Black Desert stirs. The barrier holds. For now.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: While their sacrifices will go unremarked by the Imperium at large, the Raivans that sold their lives in the dark are a reminder to you all that no matter what your prejudices about those who fight alongside you might be, -all- of you are Servants of the God-Emperor in this war, no matter your lineage. The dead will be returned to Shadowglow to be given proper funerary rites in the manner of their people. Their sacrifices will be remembered.

4-348.600.M41 - The Encounter on Kydos

In the depths of Hive Loftus on the ocean-world of Kydos, the Entity known as Item-0001 “PDBX” the Drukhari-forged construct created by the Thorian renegades that escaped Inquisitorial operations on Corbenic in 599 was encountered by local elements shortly prior to the arrival of sanctioned Inquisitorial agents. Its emergence was accompanied by the psychic destruction of local personnel and inexplicable interactions with the polluted oceanic strata, suggesting capabilities and awareness beyond classification.

Responding to reports, multiple Inquisitorial agents converge to pursue and contain the anomaly. Encountering opposition in the form of unidentified Astartes elements bearing no chapter markings seemingly seeking to kill the Entity. These forces were met in kind by unidentified Astartes wearing Black and Silver who moved to aid Inquisitorial Agents in their pursuit. The appearance of large numbers of zealots from the cult known as the Congregation of the Burning Martyr - apparently drawn by or to the Entity - complicated matters further.

Despite a pitched engagement in the flooded ruins of Lower Hive Loftus, the Entity evaded capture. Any agents wanting more information on this encounter are recommended to contact agents Pilotspear, Strix, Zaphiel, Silvestro, Stanford and Anderson.

  • Inquisitor Vetnori: It is my assertion that the presence of the Entity - and the protective fervor it inspires - poses a growing existential and ideological threat to the Imperium. My Ordo has redacted key information from wider dissemination. The investigation continues, but those involved are now deeply enmeshed in a hunt that may call into question the very foundations of Imperial doctrine should it be allowed to be propagated.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: The Conclave has not adopted a formal position beyond the capture of the entity though Lady-Inquisitor Vetnori has made her position very clear the remainder of the Conclave still actively hold the opinion that we know very little about this entity yet and to kill it out of hand represents a failing in our duties to inquisit it first.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: The unidentified Adeptus Astartes are a source of concern because of lack of heraldry. That might imply they are either rogue, or, more concerning, traitor forces. Their attempt on the life of the Entity indicates they see it as a threat - more reason to bring it into our custody, regardless of our opinions on its nature and our final decision on its fate, as few things in the galaxy can survive entire Astartes assassin squads for long.

4-391.600.M41 - Saint Gearwright Reinforces the Battlelines at Helaerus III

The battle for Helaerus III, key front in the Cerastes Salient of the Secundus Front, has escalated into a grinding war of attrition marked by spiritual symbolism and brutal logistics. The Saint-Presumptive Callum Gearwright, hailed as a beacon of hope by the faithful, was deployed to the trenches under Warmaster-Emiratus Ulian’s command as a calculated act of morale warfare. The Saint’s presence galvanized Imperial forces, but likewise drew the attention of Chaos-aligned Regency forces.

Despite suffering from inadequate materiel flow, political sabotage, and rising dissent among the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Crusade forces have held the line through a combination of grit and sacrificial valor. The Regency’s coordinated assault, backed by a scrapcode-driven comms collapse and direct daemonic incursion, aimed to sever the head of Imperial command. This attack was repelled through the combined actions of a multi-stratum defense cadre - including Inquisitorial operatives, Lifeward Companion Barris, and the Warmaster himself. One of the Dark God’s dread lieutenants, attempted to manifest aboard Her Bastion Glorious, the Capitol Imperialis escorting the Saint-Presumptive, but was driven back through psychic countermeasures before it could compromise command integrity.

Though bloodied, Inquisitorial Agents forced a retreat, holding the line long enough for the Capitol’s void-shields and weapons to reactivate and reassert dominance. Meanwhile, daemon-led infiltration attempts were thwarted at great cost by elite defenders at the Saint’s side. Any agents wanting more information on events on Helaerus are recommended to contact agents Castronova, Squad Palmerinah, Vrys or Virelian-Volkov.

  • Inquisitor Zahid: Helaerus III remains contested, but the Saint-Presumptive’s survival and continued presence serve as the axis around which Imperial faith and military cohesion now pivot. The shadow of Chaos still looms - but hope, weaponized, endures, we must continue to press our advantage.

4-416.600.M41 - Religious Intervention on Merewald

Considering the rising civil unrest driven by the Ludlamites in resistance to the technological modernisation of their world, the Inquisition has decided to take steps to accelerate its transition. Covert Inquisitorial operatives are deployed to dismantle Ludlamite influence and prepare the planet for integration as a viable agri-world. Inquisitorial strategy has been to emphasize ideological change over open conflict and risking a serf uprising, blending propaganda, and carefully orchestrated public incidents to undermine Ludlamite credibility.

Key operatives embedded across political, religious, and social spheres executed a coordinated campaign of soft subversion. Through staged assassination attempts, economic incentives, theological counter-sermons, and targeted disinformation, doubt is sowed as to the Ludlamites’ moral authority while elevating voices aligned with pro-Imperial progress. Subtle acts of sabotage, false martyrdom, and controlled public narratives providing the falsehood that reform was spontaneous. With Agents assuming roles as preachers, nobles, benefactors, and icons, reshaping public loyalty around a vision of technological advancement sanctified by faith.

Finally, using a false flag assassination attempt against Lord Peyton Caerlyn, one of the twin Governors of the two houses that rule the world, Agents were able to cast the Ludlamites as violent extremists. The charismatic Ludlamite leader Elijah Thorncroft was eliminated under the guise of internal religious betrayal, shattering the sect's unity. By campaign’s end, Ludlamite dogma was discredited, Merewald’s leadership reaffirmed loyalty to the Throne, and a new, modernized faith narrative took root - one in which machinery is considered to exalt the holy purpose of labour keeping the local population mollified though this period of transition. Any agents wanting more information on this operation are recommended to contact agents Isabella, Carter, Trask, Arabella, Valbrand or Corentyn.

  • Inquisitor Zahid: The operational success on Merewald completes our operations on the planet following the downfall of House Stanford - while we continue to monitor it for threats we are now largely content that the planet is locked on a path of modernisation at this point. It seems likely that the Nongentist Omnicult will find purchase on the planet but its strong relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus, or at least those inclined towards the Omnicult, will hopefully ensure the transition of Mechancus assets to Merewald to accelerate the pace of agricultural mechanisation and transition to more valuable crops then the amount of land dedicated to tea growing currently.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: While there are no doubt likely to be individuals upset at the loss of tea crops in the sector, synthesised alternatives exist, and ultimately the transition of Merewald to Grox-rearing, Grains, and other nutrient-rich crops for processing into standard Imperial rations will ensure the sector is more robustly protected against famine, Mors Omnibus Camellia, eh?

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: Growing food is a priority, I fully agree; however, I cannot help thinking some of the fields that grew the rarer blends could have been preserved. I find that the synthesised versions lack the richness of flavour. Regardless, this is an ideal solution both for staving off famine in the sector, and releasing the iron grip of the Governor on the last viable breadbasket planet in the sector. However, to avoid the anger of the Ecclesiarchy, we need to be careful about presenting the Ludlamites as a strange, heretical sect, whose uprooting was done in service to the good standing of the Church, not as us meddling to elevate a third planet to breadbasket status as soon as possible by means of industrialization.

4-487.600 to 4-508.600.M41 - Sic semper evello mortem Tyrannus

Inquisitorial Forces deployed to Butonia in a strike mission to abduct the Ferraen Magos Irydion-619 for interrogation discover that the Magos has been corrupted to the service of the Dark Gods, and, most notably to the foul nature of the Lord of Change by the entity known as “That-Which-Walks-Behind” (contact agents Jensch, Weiss, Wilhelm, Firenze, and Caerlyn for more details on this specific entity) which has encouraged the Magos on behalf of Tyrannus the Priest-King of the Regency, and Dark Apostle of the Arch Heretics of the Black Legion to unearth an ancient Xenos ‘Astra Porta’ Stargate capable of crossing worlds to corrupt into a heretical foci for a ritual that would tear Butonia in half and birth a warp rift capable of allowing the Archenemy’s fleets to bypass the front lines in Subsector Secundus and ravage Subsector Secundus. Forces of the Prometheae are also encountered on-world and a rough alliance against the forces of Chaos is agreed.

Inquisitorial forces successfully unbind rituals on worlds tethered Butonia by the Gate before confronting Tyrannus in person on the surface of a distant Regency Homeworld, the foresight of the Operational Commanders requesting Exterminatus-class explosives prior to the mission allows the Taskforce to commit a glorious act of martyrdom in detonating the device, annihilating Tyrannus, decapitating the Regency, and likely many of the forces assembled to invade though the Warp Rift had the Archenemy been successful. Forces unknown prevent all bar Sister Helara [Blessed be the Martyrs] who detonated the device from selling their lives in His name, scattering them across time and space briefly before they reappear eight days later on Butonia.

In the intervening time, the nexus of Warp Power created by the Magos and Tyrannus on Butonia attracts several Champions of the Dark Gods to the surface of the world in search of the Warps power, most infamous amongst them Greppur Tain who is slain by Inquisitorial Agents before his diseased form is annihilated to prevent him returning and to cast his soul screaming into the Warp. It is only a single champion of the Dark Gods, a Traitor Astartes Sorcerer positively identified to be the same one seen at the House Stanford Estate on Butonia by Agents several years ago, lives to complete his ritual, before departing the world with the blessings of the Dark Gods to parts unknown.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: Though events surrounding the decision to utilise an exterminatus-class weapon in a tactical skirmish are probably best not elaborated on - we have what we came for, magos Iryidion-918 was largely compliant under questioning and supporting information provided by excruciation, psychic deep scanning and data-scouring of his bionics posthumously provide us with sufficient evidence to prove to the Martian Synod that Fabricator-General Myrioi-513 is in violation of their most sacred laws even before we discuss his violations that our colleagues in the Ordos Choronos will be very interested in pursuing - but more on that later.

The Taskforce’s skill in pivoting so rapidly to thwarting the scheme of the Archenemy means that we now count not only a strategic victory in destroying one of the Regencies’ surviving haven-worlds and preventing their own bypassing of their lines, but two major scalps, the death of Tyrannus, even with events that have happened subsequently, cannot be diminished, at the start of this year we had little hope of delivering such a powerful strike to the heart of the Regency. Now we have taken it’s head, early signs (as you will read later) point to this being a significant victory in ending the stalemate in Secundus and Tertius.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: I should say that providing a strike team with an improvised portable exterminatus-class device, giving it a large button, and not expecting to have it pressed by the time the mission was over, is very hopeful. Amazingly so.
    • Hector-2-Delta: Inquisitor Corvinus informs this unit that he is thankful for this note.

4-489.600.M41 to [Ongoing] - The Regency Fragments

For a long time, intelligence analysis of the Regency has suggested that they have relied heavily on a single charismatic leader to unite a cult that was deliberately kept in competition to prevent any figures capable of challenging the status quo. Without this leader, and with what is estimated to be a bulk of its remaining forces destroyed, there is no longer a presence to hold together any would-be successors in the command structure, while military leaders such as Jehanne Anointed-Sword-of-the-Bladed-Fleet are able to maintain control of smaller sections of the front and the warriors fighting on them, many fronts collapse, as would-be pretenders to the Throne withdraw their forces to fight for control and others launch into suicidal frenzies of mass sacrifice to appease their Gods out of fear of offence.

Though some Salient Commanders are caught by surprise, forces on Helaerus, guided by the tactical genius of General Astara and the prescient guidance of Saint-Presumptive Gearwright exploit the sudden disarray with armoured pushes and the deployment of reserve units to drive the Regency forces back. The tide turns dramatically on Helaerus, the theatre now less static, the Astartes of the Lions of Nemea are able to deploy in greater numbers to launch surgical strikes at critical Regency landing sites from their ships in orbit, crippling the supply lines on the ground and routing what Regency ships remain in orbit.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: The Regency infiltrators that were exposed among our ranks are still a problem I have not seen satisfactorily resolved. While the Regency human forces are a very effective weapon - disciplined, trained, focused in a way that other forces like those of the Weeping Eye aren’t, the infiltrators know us like no-other. Tyrannus kept everything in check - including allowing purely human forces to operate without interference or harassment from their most barbaric and corrupted allies. Without him and his protection, the infiltrators could, theoretically, decide to return to the Imperium to hide, and that concerns me greatly. We must be exceedingly vigilant in the days to come.

4-508.600.M41 - The Weeping Eye Cries Tears Of Blood

Whatever unnatural bond exists between the twin Tain siblings, Arnkatla Tain has clearly been made aware of the unremarked death of her brother on Butonia as, for the first time since they entrenched on Kelper Prime, the forces of the Weeping Eye (or Grátur Auga in the black tongue) having subsumed her Brothers Warband, the Creeping Death, fully into her own, finally light the engines of their fleet - using immense chains linked to the surface of Kelper prime by some unnatural means the fleet tears huge chunks of the blighted world from the surface, trailing them through space like immense censers trailing clouds of blighted atmosphere with them that, due to sorcery, does not boil off in the vacuum. Leaving ravaged Kelper behind to be wracked by tectonic events in the aftermath of its wounding, the fleet accelerates to warp, dragging their diseased bounty.

Commodore Kirill’s blockade forces at the jump points leading from Kelper Prime suddenly find themselves assaulted at all points by frenzied battlegroups as they emerge from the warp dragging vast pieces of planetoid out of the warp that are sent spiralling into the battlelines of the Battlefleet Prosperitas forces under Kirill. The only location that does not see significant aggression is Polarnus Station several Wepping Eye ships break themselves on the mined jump point to deliver section of planet that careens though the minefield before being annihilated by the station’s defenders, including the nova cannons of several Mars-class vessels anchored around the stations, leaving navigational hazards that prevent the fleet jumping to reinforce against other vectors of attack.

At Bachian and Amenophis, the plagued fleets drag the diseased chunks though the defending vessels - those caught in the miasma sorcerously overwhelmed by sudden tides of plague-carrying warpborne vermin before they launch their payloads at the surface of the Imperial worlds. At Bachian the Third Moon, the so called ‘Warden Moon’, where House Vilas-Lobo maintains grand estates and rules over the abhuman clans on the surface of the poisonous world, is annihilated by a section of continental rock from Kelper Prime, as additional forces pour forth from the jump point to raid the world.

At Amenophis, a bizarre solar event annihilates both beleaguered Imperial vessels and the Weeping Eye warfleet alike, along with the tormented remains of Kelper, as a ‘solar jet’ from the planet's sun intercepts them. Hailed as a miracle by the Planet’s solar cult, the surviving Imperial vessels are able to rally to defend against a second wave of Weeping Eye into the system.

Despite the success of her forces breaking out into Bachian, and her new position to manoeuvre, Arnkatla Tain’s flag is sighted at none of the salients her forces have created. Long-range Augury suggests she still remains in orbit of Kelper Prime whatever revenge she might seek to inflict on the Imperium either not personal enough for her to lead, or still being brewed in the tortured cauldron of the devastated Kelper system.

  • Inquisitor Haslinger: Arnkatla Tain was always the most dangerous of the two siblings as evidenced by her willingness to coordinate her fleet with our mysterious “Magos M” that led to the capture of Polarnus Station, and her rout of the defenders of Kelper Prime later in her campaign against her. I am sure our allies in the Crusade would have hoped that the death of her brother might provoke her into irrational action, but is much more likely that she has seized upon the esoteric advantages of her twin being dead to improve her demonstrably potent sorcerous talents. Sometimes the death of a Sibling can mean the end of a sharing of power between souls, for example. It is impossible to know what she is planning next and as such we should send Agents to the Kelper system to investigate, perhaps the Stormchaser can be made available or better yet the Word of Despite…

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: We are attempting to work out exactly what caused the Solar event at Amenophis - while it could be seen as coincidental, it was curiously convenient and precise - and surpassed the level of any other solar flare registered in the recent history of the planet by magnitudes. This leads me to believe that it was more likely the Quetzapali awakening ancient defence systems set by their Slaan Masters. The disregard for Imperial lives spent in the passage of the beam is a reminder of how little we matter in the cold calculus of these creatures, civilian or otherwise. This also gives us a good measure of the potential threat they could pose should they decide they no longer wish to cooperate with humanity.

4-511.600.M41 - Our New “Friends”

“Agents of the Inquisition” (Prometheae) approach Sector Governor Hermione Durovera with the corpse of Tyrannus extracted from the surface of Butonia following the return of Inquisitorial forces. Though no known Prometheae Agents participated in the assault that actually slew him, Inquisitor Reyna Haslinger (Excommunicae Traitoris) speaks greatly of the sacrifice of Sister Hospitalier Helara [Blessed be the Martyrs] in slaying the foe. As perhaps to be expected of a Governor who at heart is still the Lady Captain of her Warrant of Trade, Hermione seizes upon the story and the corpse to embellish the narrative with her own part in being a long term ally of the Inquisition and aiding the operation safe in the knowledge that neither the Prometheae or the Prosperitas Conclave will risk publicly correcting her narrative, though she does maintain the Sister Hospitalier as part of the narrative and call upon the Ecclesiarchy to recognise this as mark of true Sainthood rather than their ‘indulgence’ of the Gearwrights and Saint-Presumptive Callum Gearwright.

Having won the support of Hermione Durovera, and considered at least widely in public to be a legitimate Inquisitor, Reyna Haslinger conducts a peaceful transfer of the Inquisitorial Fortress on Duroverum to her control allowing those agents stationed there safe passage offworld to return to the Conclave before entrenching the Prometheae firmly at the right hand of the Sector Governess.

  • Hector-2-Delta: ++From contextual clues this unit has been able to translate the noises produced by Inquisitor Rilke Haslinger to this news as…++
    • Inquisitor Haslinger: *Impotent Screaming And Words Too Offensive To Imperial Sensibilities To Reproduce*

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: Hermione has now outlived her usefulness.

  • Inquisitor Zahid: Wise words as ever from my learned colleagues. As ever, any shadow war of the Inquisition has its ups and downs, and while the Prometheae enjoy the ear of Hermione Durovera and have made themselves harder for us to risk openly persecuting less we fail at our duties of maintaining the facade we are as united as any branch of Imperial Governance. They have also inherited the problem of managing the Sector Governor who I suspect even Reyna Haslinger will find far harder to control then she expects.

4-535.600.M41 - The Knights of Anaximund Stand Tall

Having been abandoned to the mercies of the Regency by the forces of Forge Ferraeus, the Knight Houses of House Queresh and their Banner-House Zahak manage to reach out to Crusade Forces reporting victory against their invaders and the myriad Dark Mechanicum horrors arrayed against them. Freeblades and Members of the Houses assigned to other Warzones after the loss of contact with their homeworld rally alongside forces of the Prosperitas Crusade to reinforce the Knight House. Expecting to meet resistance from the isolationist Mechanicum of Forge Naximus Prime, only to find themselves completely unchallenged while traversing to the orbit of Anaximund. Indeed, the long range augury of the Forge World from a distance suggests little to no void craft in orbit around the planet - surprising, given that the fleets of Naximus have not been seen anywhere else in the Sector since the decision of the Forge to abandon contact with the Imperium.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: Strange, but if we are able to at least relieve the Knight-Houses of Anaximund and bring them back to the Crusade, we will have heavy walkers we can rely on anchoring our lines on the ground. And one that is beholden to Imperial, not Mechanicus, aid.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis: Agreed. If we offer help now, we not only prevent another victory for the Archenemy, but we ensure the loyalty of forces that can not just help in the crusade, but very likely help us in dealing with the elusive M and his traitorous allies.

4-549.600.M41 - The Throne Of The Forge Sits Empty

The Legio Ferraeus and the Skitarii Legions of Forge Ferraeus continue to rampage across the surface of Butonia engaging with local forces, and turning the planet into a hellscape combat zone with their weaponry, though many Civilians are able to get to some degree of safety thanks to Inquisitorial forces leaving the Mechanicus there without strong leadership. Attempts to lobby Fabricator-General Myrioi-513 to stay his hand go unanswered as Crusade and House forces descend on Butonia to attempt to persuade the Titans to stand down.

The Magi of Ferraeus over the course of several weeks begin to realise that all directives from the Forge Primus and the Throne-City of the Fabricator General of Ferraeus have ceased - it takes several weeks beyond that for any of the Magi of Ferraeus to muster the courage to approach the Forge Primus only to find that beyond the dust storms that swirl around it like a great barrier wall, there is nothing, only a perfectly smooth glassy depression where a city and its lower levels used to be. The revelation that the Fabricator-General is gone, along with the fact that they have lost an entire city including the immeasurably priceless data archives stored within it sends shockwaves though the Mechanicus both on and offworld. For so long Ferraeus’ grip on the Orthodoxy of Mechanicus beliefs in the sector has been an iron one, without their Master, and without any viable candidates amongst those remaining on Ferraeus, due to Myrioi-513 essentially governing as a singular being distributed amongst their armatures, the immediate situation is a vacuum of power over what remains of the Mechanicus domains in the Sector. Many political rivals of Myrioi from across the Explorator fleets bring their vessels back to Ferraeus as tensions threaten to flare and the Machine Cult seeks its next leader in the sector.

  • Inquisitor Corvinus: Unfortunately for our mission on Butonia, we were already aware that Myrioi-513 had likely caught wind of us investigating them via their allies on the surface after one manifested in a host-form. However, the Agents deployed there shouldn’t be disheartened as ultimately our goal was to oust them from control of Ferraeus - which fear of being captured clearly has. Even with the capacity to make off with an entire city, Myrioi-513 is now outside of the bastion of defence platforms of orbital weapons that is Ferraeus, and likely operating from a fallback base somewhere within the sector.

4-556.600.M41 - Caudica Secundus Goes Dark

Having become a project for the remains of House Majid to restore their power following the destruction of their fleet over Lerwick, Caudica Secundus goes Astronomicon Null: no messages from the system are received and no attempt to ritually send to it is successful. Imperial Navy Vessels engaged with the Regency and rebel forces at Lerwick are moved to the jump point against a presumed archenemy counter-attack, but nothing happens - many draw parallels to the sudden way in which Mawson's Wake was cut off from contact with the rest of the Sector, an act many presumed at first to be enacted by the Regency - and, yet, no forces have emerged from that region of space. If any of House Majid survive whatever fate befalls Caudica in these moments, then none have made contact in the weeks since to confirm their survival.

  • The apparent absence of overt Ishari and SCENIC activity continues to be a primary concern of the Prosperitas Conclave - with multiple factions with a stated interest in interfering with the means of the imprisonment of the elder entity actively in play. There is an active Inquisitorial concern that the Ishari are conducting similar rituals to the Darkness as they attempted on Letifer Secundus, and on worlds formerly occupied by the Regency now that conflict has erupted there. The notable absence of the human-like “Witch” entities in any theater suggests that the forces of the elder entity have taken advantage of the ravages of Chaos to prepare to fully awaken their “God”. Inquisitorial Taskforces are being formed to probe this issue further.

  • Crusade High Command has restricted vessels from entering the deeper reaches of the Mor Draenog despite the presence of the Corbenic Beacon to navigate the void in the region more easily, with vessels prohibited from penetrating further than the outer edge of the region. This comes at a request from Captain Medb of the Lions of Nemea to the Warmaster, along with the assurances from her that the Chapter will stand guard to prevent any Archenemy incursions into the prohibited zones. Inquisitorial Agents are recommended to make representation to Teneros Virilian-Volkov, should they wish to enter these regions, as the Arbiter possesses a close enough relationship with those Astartes to ensure a proper dialogue on the Inquisitions behalf.

  • Inquisitor Duplesis requests that any agents encountering unknown Xenos bioforms attempt to acquire and store biological samples, and transfer them to her personnel where possible, preferably to Interrogator Elspeth Flannigan - and to report all encounters with Xenos where possible, in order to provide a better spread of hostile bioform activity in the Prosperitas Sector.

  • Having likely confirmed Inquisitorial Agent reports that House Globex appears to be in alignment with the Archenemy warp entity known as the Smiling One or That-Which-Walks-Behind (some debate still persists if the entities are separate, conjoined or two faces of the same entity) or at least the Cult of Change, Inquisitorial forces are being prepared to launch raids against the Houses’ holdings in the sector in order to seize evidence and condemn the House for Heresy.

  • House Vilas-Lobo appear to be under immense pressure from their Terran parent-house House Lobos-Reais to ensure the repayment of debts owed to the Terran House, both by the House itself as a cadet-house of their homeworld Masters, and by the bloodline of House Durovera. While this explains recent periods of aggressive expansionism by the House, it also is a worrying development. House Lobos-Reais is a storied and ancient House of Terra with considerable power in the Senatorum Imperialis having made the greater bulk of its wealth in ancient times aiding in the construction of the Imperial Palace with its geneforged creations, and having estates within the palace perimeter by Imperial Charter. Should it grow tired of its debts going unpaid, it could disrupt the political situation in the Sector even further in ways that would undermine the potential victory momentum the Crusade now has against the Archenemy.

++Rumours++

++ Be aware that the veracity of this information has not be ascertained and carries with it a class-2 warning of unreliability [class-2.information is gathered via un-enhanced interrogation or state surveillance]++

  • There is a supposed rumour coming out Lerwick’s southernmost island chains that, after a comet shower, a local village reported to others a ‘great deal of commotion’ from the native Selkie population nearby - before the village itself went silent. Rumours swirl that locals were found ‘slaughtered’ by villagers investigating, but no records of any comms logs can be found - nor is there any agreement amongst locals of the location of the village.

  • A prospector flotilla operating illegally in deep void beneath the galactic plane claims to have encountered a void-dwelling entity of immense scale “singing in the void.” Survivors speak of glowing veins pulsing with warp-light and of being “watched” by a presence within. Attempts to track the flotilla have failed, and no official record of their claim exists outside informal voidsailor whisper-nets.

  • The Xenos Aeldari known as “Father” remains elusive of Inquisitorial Justice but Ordo Hereticus agents in the underworld of the Prosperitas Sector have heard rumours of shifts of power: the Aeldari-dominated “Circle of Thorns” have long dominated the underworld, but that control has apparently slipped rumours of an organisation known as the “Ten Coils” and a mysterious figure “The Harrowmaster” have emerged.

  • Rumours swirl that Cadmium Redd has either escaped custody [or is a performance group and not a single person, given we absolutely have SOMEONE who claims to be Cadmium Redd detained by Mr Weiss - Corvinus] or is dead. Whatever is true, a new Flip Music Compilation “Ride to a Redd Dawn” is being distributed amongst the underhive and alternative-youth elements of the Imperial Population - a copy has not yet been acquired by the Arbites, but reviews suggest it is “The most innovative Flip Music Album ever conceived by a Recidivist Artist” and is a much sought-after product amongst the Prosperitas Underworld due to the Imperial censorship sanctions on Redd’s work.

  • Dock workers working on orbital facilities above Duroverum report vox-units activating at night to broadcast static punctuated by what appears to be a heartbeat. Some claim to have heard whispering in High Gothic or the screaming of birds inside the machines. No source has been located. Adeptus Arbites attribute it to deliberate sabotage by anti-Imperial recidivists elements, but the known recidivist factions of the Prosperitas Sector have yet to claim responsibility.

  • Junctio Station, a Void Station and trading post in the Letifer System, has had its outer-ring hab declared off-limits after multiple unrelated civilians claimed to have seen a tall figure in ragged robes standing at the edge of gravity-shielded platforms. When approached, it vanished. Several pict-recordings of the area failed to display anything - only static and whispers in binaric code.

  • Within the asteroid mining-habs of the Shard Reef, ore-workers speak of dreams where they drown in molten iron or are chained to burning stars. In each case, dreamers awaken speaking an unknown tongue and etching symbols that match no known script.

  • A deep-void salvage rig claims to have recovered a perfectly smooth black tetrahedron drifting amidst wreckage. It reflects no light, emits no signature, and displaces sensor pings with a delay of precisely 9.00 seconds. The crew refused to bring it aboard, jettisoning the find and scrubbing records. The rig’s Astropath has since been institutionalised, repeating the phrase: “There were more of them before we began to count.”

  • In the ruins of Korimesta, workers in Sector 13 claim to have experienced an entire 27-hour cycle where time stopped. They recall walking the worksites alone, in perfect silence, while black snow fell from the sky. No clocks recorded the lapse. Sector 13’s pict-feeds loop the same three seconds across the full cycle. When normal time resumed, locals claim they found several individuals frozen in motion, eyes locked open and weeping ash.

  • A missionary aboard the pilgrim-ark Honour of Duvanis claims to have met a man who introduced himself with nine different names over the course of a conversation. Each time, the missionary found himself nodding in agreement - as if he’d always known that name. The man’s face changed slightly with each name. No one else aboard recalls meeting him. The missionary was found curled in the ship's chapel, mumbling: “His name is forgetting. His name is forgetting. His name is—” (recording ends).

  • On a newly colonised moon of Vannin, settlers have discovered dozens of emergency exit signs embedded into the landscape - on rocks, trees, and cliff walls. None point toward anything but wilderness or voids. The signs are not of Imperial manufacture. The rumours say that a local lay preacher believed them to have meaning with some quoting that he suggested they were “perhaps a way out of this dream.” Shortly after this he walked off a cliff resulting in his death.
