Getting a Downtime

Downtimes are available to anyone who has Played or Crewed a Campaign Event since the last time downtimes were open that currently has an active (approved and played at a Campaign Event) character. The exception to this is an individual whose character has either died or been retired prior to downtime opening in this circumstance they may submit a downtime providing their new character concept has been approved by the Game Team but it may only be the Serve your Inquisitor Major Action along with any Minor Actions the character's traits entitled to.

Downtime Actions

A character can perform ONE Major Action and ONE Minor Action.

Major Actions represent the pursuit if plots and events outside of events, they may provide greater insight to lore, or an opportunity to tie up loose ends that we did not have time to do during the game, or to pursue opportunities and areas of the setting that we won't necessarily find the time to explore in either the main campaign events or a tales event.

Minor Actions are only available to characters with certain traits and what can be done with them depends on those traits.

Major Actions

Clean Up - This is a Game Team guided option that will see your character set to work undertaking some kind of outstanding task or unfinished business remaining from the last event - you do not need to have attended the event to choose this option.

Serve your Inquisitor - This is a Game Team guided option that will allow your character to build their reputation with their Inquisitor by undertaking a task that they need dealing with. This is an option for being guided towards ongoing plots in order to get further details with the reward of strengthening your ties with the Inquisitor you serve - it also implies a level of physical risk, there is a chance of failure and a risk of having ongoing roleplay or mechanical effects carrying into play.

Pursue an Agenda - This is a freetext option that allows you to pursue an Agenda of your Characters choosing it implies your character is doing something action-orientated such as pursuing a foe, investigating a location in person, and so on - it also implies a level of physical risk, there is a chance of failure and a risk of having ongoing roleplay or mechanical effects carrying into play.

Research the Archives - This is a freetext option that allows you to Research a topic of your Characters choosing, you must possess a relevant Lore Discipline and Specialism relating to the topic you are doing research on. This option is not without risk, even in a library, for example, there are records that can twist mind and soul, there is a risk of learning things you did not wish to, and ongoing roleplay or mechanical effects carrying into play.

Minor Actions

Minor Actions are provided by certain Traits they represent access to specialised resources that are not easily represented in uptime and so are better represented by effects during the downtime period.

Currently the only traits that grant Minor Actions are Spymaster and Trader which both give the option to ask a specialised group of contacts a question.
