House Sarandeen
At the centre of a vast trade empire, House Sarandeen holds the Munitorum charter for the production and distribution of all conventional solid-slug ammunition across the Prosperitas Sector. With a number of vassal worlds under its sway dedicated to mining metallic ores, producing propellant and recycling millions of tonnes of spent casings, House Sarandeen owes its origins to the fertile worlds of Subsector Primus. Originally a minor merchant cartel, the House was elevated to nobility by the influence of House Majid.
The scions of House Sarandeen, sensitive about their House’s position as one of the youngest in the Sector, are at pains to prove their rightful position at the head of of the Imperial citizenry. Their effort to make Sarandeen parties more lavish, their jewellery more elegant, their duels more elaborate than any other House in the Sector is constant. This excess results, perversely, in nothing but contempt from the House’s more elevated peers - particularly from House Vilas-Lobo, who see the Sarandeens as nothing but upstart pretenders to their well-earned place at the social heart of Sector society.
Recent History
The Trade War of 593-3.M41 and the fall of House Majid was devastating for the House. Suffering from a surprise Di Firro attack on their holdings on Kydos which killed the House's senior members outright, and unable to believe the Majids could protect them, the House swore themselves to Vilas-Lobo, becoming their vassals - a galling turn for a House once considered their social rivals.
The House continues to hold its charter for solid-slug ammunition, only adding to the power of its Vilas-Lobo Masters, but seeing the fate of other former Majid vassals who have been disbanded and assimilated into the whole of its new Masters, it worries for its future.
