About Asteroid 24334-1

Known to its inhabitants as Cyprus Creek, the isolated satellite colony of Asteroid 24334-1 is in a slow, regular orbit around a stable white dwarf in southern Subsector Primus. The colony was old before the Crusade conquered it in the early 100s.M41; the records of its creation were purged during the destruction and censuring of pre-Crusade Sector history, but the Adeptus Mechanicus who tend to its ancient atmospheric processing systems and void-seals speak of their origins in hushed and reverent tones.

Life on Asteroid 24334-1 is remarkably pleasant, by Imperial standards, for those Globex vassal families lucky enough to secure residency. Renowned for its high quality accommodation, low pollution levels and security from external threats – ensured by an impressive network of layered defense platforms and the regular presence of armed ships from the House fleet – it has one of the lowest crime rates in the Sector, meriting the presence of the Adeptus Arbites once in a decade if at all.

Although the head of House Globex is the ultimate arbiter of the asteroid’s destiny, the day-to-day management and governance of the facility falls to the Magos-Ordinary in charge of the colony’s Mechanicus contingent. Since it is their artifice and litanies which tend to the atmosphere reprocessors, maintain the pumps for the artificial lakes and streams within the recreation domes, and genesplice new trees for the hydroponics forest, the House deems it fit that the Priests of Mars should oversee most mundane affairs of leadership.

The current Magos-Ordinary is a Castellum native with an Enginseer background called Totally-Ordered-Ring-Zero-Precedes-Element-or-its-Inverse McLelland; her “pet project” is the reclamation and reconsecration of an ancient Shrine to the Omnissiah-as-Perpetual-Motion recently rediscovered and excavated on the dark side of the asteroid.
